Water table depth effect on growth and yield parameters of hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.): a lysimeter study

Abstract Groundwater is a significant source of plant water use since groundwater consumption plants reduces the volume surface irrigation water. In this study, table effect on hard red spring wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) growth and yield parameters were investigated using lysimeter technique in controlled environment. Three different depths including 30, 60, 90 cm control treatment with tested. The results showed that depth was 11% 31% lower than 60 30 depths, respectively. Consequently, increased, crop decreased. Similarly, increasing from to lysimeter, efficiency increased by 79% 71%, produced highest yield, above-ground biomass, kernel quality compared depths.
